32Red is one of the biggest online poker rooms on the MicroGaming Poker Network. Though mostly known for its fabulous casino, 32red’s poker room is just as well respected. Unfortunately US players are unable to play on 32Red (or other microgaming network sites).
32Red Poker Bad Beat Jackpot
A miraculous occurrence just happened on the microgaming network in Feburary 2011. 2 badbeat jackpots were hit in the span of 24hrs. The first jackpot was hit on Feb 12 for a record amount of $558,296 on that network. Just a few hours later on Feb 13 it was hit again for $114,264.
Here’s how the bad beat jackpot is paid out when it’s hit:
- 35% goes to the victim of the bad beat
- 17.5% goes to the winner of the hand
- 17.5% is split evenly among everyone else at the table
- 20% is used to seed the next jackpot
- 10% goes to administration fees
The losing hand must be at least 4 of a kind 8s or better to qualify and both players’ hole cards must be used. That means you won’t qualify for the jackpot if there are four 8s on the board and someone else wins the pot. You have to use both your hole cards for it to count. Also 4 or more players must be dealt into the hand to qualify.
