What are bad beat Jackpots?
A bad beat jackpot is a cash reward that is paid to poker players who suffer sufficiently horrible bad beats to qualify for the jackpot prize.
What usually qualifies as a bad beat jackpot?
Most online poker sites offering bad beat jackpots have similar rules. Here are the two common rules among them:
- The losing hand must be 4 of a Kind 8s or better
- Both players’ hole cards must be used
How is the Bad Beat Jackpot Paid out?
Each sites differs somewhat, but here is a common breakdown of the payout. Note that some of the jackpot remains for the next one:
- 25% rolls over to the next jackpot
- 10% goes to the house
The remaining 65% is divided up as follows:
- 50% goes to the loser of the hand
- 25% goes to the winner of the hand
- The rest of the money is divided up among every single person at the table
